You don't need a perfectly prepared homeschool to get started.

You need an understanding of the Montessori approach, a practical starting point, and the willingness to learn alongside your child.

Kickstart is a self-paced video course that walks you through the initial work of bringing Montessori into your home—from preparing yourself and your family to creating a functional learning environment and beginning your first homeschool days.

A place to begin

Perhaps you've spent months researching Montessori homeschooling, collecting resources, comparing curricula and wondering what you're actually supposed to do on your first day.

Or perhaps you've already decided to homeschool, but the distance between making that decision and actually beginning feels enormous. Kickstart is designed to help you close that gap. Rather than trying to establish the perfect Montessori homeschool from day one, you'll learn how to begin with a provisional arrangement: a practical starting point that you can observe, evaluate and improve as you develop your understanding of your child.

Stories from parents

“"I’ve been on the fence for so long about Montessori homeschooling, but after just two weeks of using Lynda's advice, I saw a huge difference in my older two children. Her Kickstart course gave me the step-by-step guidance I needed to stop feeling overwhelmed and actually start making progress. The change I’ve seen in my kids has been incredible!"”

Robin Q, Mom of 4

“"I've been Montessori-ish for years, but after attending Lynda's Kickstart workshop, I finally felt ready to jump in fully. The course was overwhelming in the best way—it gave me the structure and clarity I needed to confidently integrate Montessori into our homeschooling routine, even with our unique lifestyle in rural Alaska. I feel so much more prepared as an educator and excited for what's next."”

Shyla, Homeschooling Mom of 3

“"I’ve been following Lynda for over a year, and when I finally decided to sign up for From Scratch, everything clicked. The structure gave me the confidence to start homeschooling my son, and I finally feel like I have a clear roadmap. The guidance I’ve received from Lynda is incredible ... I am now starting her Montessori Homeschool Academy and I love how personalized the process is - from time of application. I know it's exactly what I need to create a Montessori learning environment at home!"”

Fatema, Mom of One, Saudi Arabia

Lynda Apostol

Educationalist, Author, Founder of The Montessori Teacher™ and The Montessori Homeschool Academy™

I'm the author of The Montessori Homeschooler, founder of The Montessori Homeschool Academy, Montessori educationalist, and a veteran homeschooling mother. My work focuses on preparing parents to become capable Montessori educators—developing their understanding of child development, educational judgment, and the practical organizational skills needed to guide learning at home. Through TMHA, I bring together Montessori pedagogy, adult preparation, and real-life homeschooling experience to help families build an education that is both developmentally sound and sustainable.

Begin where you are

Your first homeschool arrangement doesn't need to be your final arrangement.

What matters is that you begin, give your child meaningful opportunities to engage with their environment, and develop a willingness to observe and learn.
